india : 22.58 UTC — Es war Mitt­woch geweesen. Abend. Es reg­ne­te, Regen auch wäh­rend ich schlief. Ich konnt ihn hören von zu Zeit zu Zeit, wenn ich auf­tauch­te, ohne ganz wach zu wer­den. Von irgend­wo­her ein Geräusch, pling, pling, und Isaac B. Sin­gers hel­le und zugleich raue Stim­me, indem sie eine Geschich­te erzählt, die ich in den ver­gan­ge­nen Tagen wie­der und wie­der hör­te. Die Geschich­te geht so: “Kurz nach mei­ner Ankunft ( in Ame­ri­ka ) betrat ich zum ers­ten mal eine Cafe­te­ria, ohne zu wis­sen was das ist. Ich hielt es für ein Restau­rant. Ich sah lau­ter Leu­te mit Tabletts und frag­te mich, war­um man in so einem klei­nen Restau­rant so vie­le Kell­ner brauch­te. Ich gab jedem, der mit einem Tablett vor­bei­kam, ein Zei­chen. Ich hielt sie alle für Kell­ner und woll­te etwas bestel­len. Aber sie igno­rier­ten mich, man­che lächel­ten auch. Und ich dach­te, was für ein unwirk­li­cher Ort! Es war wie in einem Traum. Ein klei­nes Café mit so vie­len Kell­nern, und nie­mand beach­tet mich! Irgend­wann begriff ich dann, was eine Cafe­te­ria ist. Sie wur­de mein zwei­tes Zuhau­se. Die Cafe­te­ri­en wur­den eine Art Zuhau­se für Flücht­lin­ge aus Polen, Russ­land und ande­ren Län­dern. Vie­le mei­ner Geschich­ten spie­len in Cafe­te­ri­en, wo all die­se Men­schen auf­ein­an­der­tra­fen: die Nor­ma­len, die weni­ger Nor­ma­len und die Ver­rück­ten. Das ist also der Hin­ter­grund mei­ner Geschich­ten, die in Cafe­te­ri­en spie­len.” — Das Radio erzählt, Män­ner, die stun­den­lang mit­tels zwei­er Pan­zer­ma­schi­nen sowie fünf schul­ter­ge­stütz­ter  Fern­waf­fen ein acht­stö­cki­ges Wohn­haus der Stadt Mariu­pol beschos­sen haben sol­len, wür­den in der Stil­le nach dem mör­de­ri­schen Angriff geru­fen haben: Allah ‘akbar.
