fox­trott : 0.15 — Eine hoch­auf­lö­sen­de Foto­gra­fie zeigt eine Stra­ße der Stadt Damas­kus bei Tages­licht. Die­se Stra­ße ist nicht irgend­ei­ne Stra­ße, son­dern eine Stra­ße, die sich in einem von syri­schen Regie­rungs­trup­pen bela­ger­ten Stadt­teil befin­den soll. Davon habe ich Kennt­nis, ich hat­te einen kur­zen Bericht gele­sen, der sich mit jener foto­gra­fier­ten Stra­ße befass­te. Die Häu­ser der Stra­ße sind zer­stört, nicht ganz zum Boden hin gezwun­gen, aber sie sind Rui­nen, sind unbe­wohn­bar gewor­den. Man erzählt, die Stra­ße, ein gan­zer Stadt­teil und die in ihm leben­den Men­schen sei­en voll­stän­dig von der Ver­sor­gung abge­schnit­ten, kein Trink­was­ser, kei­ne Nah­rung. Hun­der­te Men­schen sol­len bereits ver­hun­gert sein. Die Auf­nah­me nun lich­tet tau­sen­de im Infer­no leben­de Men­schen ab, Men­schen, die Bom­ben, Scharf­schüt­zen, Gift­gas und Aus­zeh­rung über­leb­ten, sie haben sich in der Schlucht zer­stör­ter Häu­ser vor der Kame­ra ein­ge­fun­den. Vie­le ste­hen gebeugt, als wür­den sie beten. Ande­re flie­ßen auf den Trüm­mern der Häu­ser­wän­de auf­wärts. Ein Bild wie aus einem Traum, der ein Alb­traum sein muss. Ich kann die Men­schen genau­er betrach­ten, indem ich die Auf­nah­me auf mei­nem Bild­schirm ver­grö­ße­re. Aus einer Men­ge tre­ten ein­zel­ne Men­schen her­vor, ein Mann mit lich­tem Bart und Bril­le, eine jun­ge Frau, die ein grü­nes Kopf­tuch trägt. In dem Moment der Auf­nah­me legt sie ihre Hän­de vor den Mund. Vie­le der Men­schen schei­nen wie die jun­ge Frau in das Objek­tiv der Kame­ra zu bli­cken. Für einen Augen­blick mei­ne ich, dass sie aus ihren Kel­lern gekom­men sein könn­ten, trotz der Gefahr von Ton­nen­bom­ben umge­bracht zu wer­den, um auf die­se Auf­nah­me zu kom­men, um nicht ganz zu ver­schwin­den, ja, das ist denk­bar. Aber ver­mut­lich ist die Wirk­lich­keit die­ser Auf­nah­me eine ande­re, ver­mut­lich wer­de ich nie erfah­ren, war­um die­se Men­schen zusam­men­ge­kom­men sind, so vie­le Men­schen, und wer über­leb­te und wer nicht über­leb­te. — Kin­der. sier­ra : 22.02 — Män­ner, die mit blo­ßen Hän­den Trüm­mer­ber­ge durch­su­chen. Der Fuß eines Kin­des, stau­big, das unter einer Beton­de­cke gefan­gen liegt. Erdi­ge Stra­ßen, gesäumt von ver­we­sen­den Kör­pern. Eine tote Frau, die auf einem Stuhl sitzt. Ein Mäd­chen, wie im Traum, nicht ansprech­bar, ihr Blick in die Fer­ne gerich­tet, wie sie durch eine Men­ge stam­meln­der Men­schen schrei­tet. Wei­nen­de Stim­men. Ver­stör­te Kin­der­ge­sich­ter. Rufen. Durst. Ver­zweif­lung. Infer­no. Flim­mer­bil­der. — Im Zug nach Süden erzählt eine Frau, die in Hai­ti gebo­ren wur­de und vie­le Jah­re dort leb­te, von dem Land, von dem Volk, das sie liebt, und alle Rei­sen­den, die in ihrer Nähe sit­zen, hören ihr zu, gebannt, mit­füh­lend, fra­gend. Ein­mal sagt sie, dass die Bewoh­ner der Stadt Port-au-Prin­ce, die ihr Leben unter Kor­rup­ti­on in größ­ter Armut auf einer hei­ßen Erd­man­tel­fal­te zei­ti­gen, nie an die Gefahr gedacht haben wür­den, in der sie sich in jeder Minu­te ihrer Exis­tenz befan­den. Nie­mand habe mit einem Erd­be­ben die­ser Stär­ke gerech­net, obwohl ein Erd­be­ben genau die­ser Inten­si­tät lan­ge vor­her­ge­sagt wor­den sei. Eine Fra­ge der Zeit, alles eine Fra­ge der Zeit, sagt die Frau, und sieht aus dem Fens­ter des Zuges, auf Schnee, der in der Däm­me­rung bläu­lich schim­mert. Man denkt, ver­ste­hen Sie, man denkt nicht an Erd­be­ben, an eine Gefahr, die nicht sicht­bar ist, wenn man in Ster­bens­ar­mut lebt. Man denkt an sau­be­res Was­ser. Man denkt an Brot. Man denkt an das Über­le­ben der Kin­der von Abend zu Abend.

echo : 12.01 — Immer wie­der eine Erschei­nung auf Posi­ti­on 50°6’N 8°38’W, ein Wesen, eine Frau, die einem Infer­no ent­kom­men oder eine Erfin­dung sein könn­te. Grau­es, stau­bi­ges, öli­ges Haar. Ihr von Leid gezeich­ne­tes Gesicht. Ihre von Schmutz star­ren­den und doch fein­glied­ri­gen Hän­de. Plas­tik­tü­ten, die sie in gebück­ter Hal­tung geräusch­voll durch die Abtei­le der Abend­zü­ge zerrt. Ihr Blick, der berührt, der mich wahr­zu­neh­men scheint, unend­lich trau­rig, unend­lich müde. Sie bet­telt nicht. Sie isst nicht. Sie trinkt nicht. Sie fährt nur Zug oder sitzt irgend­wo in den War­te­hal­len des Flug­ha­fens her­um und ver­bin­det ihre ent­zün­de­ten Füße. Nie habe ich ihre Stim­me gehört, nie sie schla­fend oder betrun­ken vor­ge­fun­den, auch nachts um drei Uhr nicht vor den Schal­tern der Luft­han­sa. Sie wird gedul­det. Sie könn­te eine Mut­ter sein. Wen erwar­tet sie? Wohin will sie flie­gen? Was ist geschehen?

hima­la­ya : 0.12 — Men­schen, die tele­fo­nie­rend in U‑Bahnen sit­zen, machen Geräu­sche, als funk­ten sie aus einer ande­ren Zeit her­über, als wären sie Kon­ser­ve, als wür­de eine uralte Schall­plat­te abge­spielt, als wür­den sie in einem U‑Boot lang­sam sin­ken, krei­schen­de, knis­tern­de, kra­chen­de Töne aus ton­nen­schwe­rer Tie­fe, aus dem Infer­no spie­len­der Kra­ken Stim­men, die Frag­men­te flüs­tern, so dass man nur noch ver­damm­te letz­te Din­ge ant­wor­ten kann. Dann aber Stil­le. Ein wei­te­res Ende. Man steht her­um, man weiß nichts zu tun, man öff­net die Tür, Salz stürzt die Trep­pe her­auf, und Luft, eine Wel­le feuch­ter Luft, vom Was­ser gehetzt, das bereits um die Ecke don­nert. Kaum hat man einen Gedan­ken gefasst, ist alles geflu­tet, der Flur, das Bad, die Lun­ge. Jetzt trei­ben sie her­ein, schwe­ben in der Küche her­um, machen Zei­chen und Sät­ze, berich­ten von klei­nen Schreib­tisch­krie­gen, Kom­man­dan­ten der Tage.
